Sierra Nevada is the most southerly ski resort in Europe, and one of very few places where a morning on the slopes and an afternoon by the Mediterranean fit into the same day. From Marbella, the resort village of Pradollano sits around 220 kilometres away, roughly two and a half hours by road — close enough for a long day trip, comfortable enough for a weekend.

The route runs along the A-7, joins the A-45 and A-92 past Antequera, skirts Granada and then climbs the A-395, the mountain road that leads directly to Pradollano at approximately 2,100 metres. It is the last 30 kilometres that make the difference: a continuous ascent that, in January, can mean dry tarmac at the bottom and packed snow at the top.

You are collected from your address in Marbella and dropped at your hotel or apartment door in Pradollano — with skis, boards and boots loaded for you.

Winter Driving on the A-395: What We Handle for You

This is a mountain route, and the ascent from Granada to Pradollano behaves differently from the rest of the journey. Four things matter, and all four are ours to manage:

  • Road conditions and closures. After heavy snowfall, access to the A-395 may be restricted or temporarily closed. We check conditions before departure and advise you in advance if the planned schedule should be adjusted.
  • Snow chains. Our vehicles carry snow chains during the season, and our chauffeurs are experienced in fitting them. If chains are required at the access control point, the journey can continue safely.
  • Timing around the weather. When snowfall or road conditions may affect the journey, we can recommend a suitable departure time based on the latest access situation and expected road-clearing conditions.
  • Parking in Pradollano. Parking can be limited during busy periods. A private transfer takes you directly to your accommodation or agreed drop-off point, avoiding the need to search for parking.

Collection at your accommodation in Pradollano and direct return to the coast, to Málaga Airport (AGP) or to Granada Airport (GRX). Useful at the end of a ski weekend, when nobody wants to drive a mountain descent after a full day on the slopes.

Return transfers. Both legs can be booked together. For a day trip, the return time can be fixed in advance or left open until the afternoon, so you are not skiing with one eye on the clock.
